Cocktails Harvey Wallbanger Donato Duke

Mixologist Donato 'Duke' Antone was said to have invented the Harvey Wallbanger cocktail in Los Angeles in the 1950s along with his other creations the Rusty Nail, the Flaming Caesar and The Godfather .

The name supposedly comes from a humorous story about a Californian surfer called Harvey. He apparently lost an important contest and so decided to drown his sorrows in Duke's Blackwatch bar with one of his 'special' screwdrivers. Several drinks later Harvey went to leave but kept bumping into furniture and walls on his way out, therefore, Harvey 'the wallbanger' became his nickname as well as the name for Duke's new cocktail.

The Recipe

This recipe serves 1
