Cocktails Mojito Hemmingway Recipe

A Mojito, championed by Hemmingway in the late 1940s is a traditional Cuban cocktail and cousin of the Brazilian cocktail Caipirinha.

It became popular worldwide in the late 1980s and is still very popular today. This cocktail is sweet although refreshing with its citrus and mint taste, this tones down the taste of the rum.

The Recipe

This recipe serves 1

  • 2 measures golden rum
  • 2 dashes of sugar syrup
  • A dash of lime juice
  • Several sprigs of mint
  • Soda water
  • Crushed ice
Add the rum, sugar, lime juice and mint into a highball glass and stir continuously to release the aroma of the mint. Then add crushed ice and top with soda water, stir vigorously. Add straws to finish.
